NW Animation Festival announces FREE entry until Nov 30

The Northwest Animation Festival is accepting submissions for 2013.

The final deadline is Jan 31. Entry is FREE if films are received by Nov 30.

The festival will take place on May 17-19 in Portland, Oregon. Organizers expect to screen 125+ films this year — making this the second largest showcase of animated shorts in the the USA.

The entry process is fast and simple. Animators are encouraged to send the 20-question entry form via email, and to submit movie files via online transfer. Films may come from anywhere in the world, and have been completed at any time in your life.

MORE ABOUT THE NORTHWEST ANIMATION FESTIVAL

The Northwest Animation Festival collects excellent short animated films from around the world for screening at an annual multi-day gathering in Portland, Oregon. Our goal: to create a large local community of impassioned enthusiasts and inspired artists, and an internationally recognized hub of animation culture.

We throw the door wide open for submissions. Films may come from anywhere in the world. You may submit films made at any time during your life. You are free to simultaneously show your work online or at other festivals.

We showcase the breadth of the animation world. All methods are represented: 2D, CG, stopmo, motion graphics, pixilation, and experimental hybrids. All styles are welcome: hilarious, heart-warming, dark, cerebral, or abstract. We make a point of showing films both from masters and remarkable amateurs.

The 2013 festival will take place on May 17-19 at the Hollywood Theatre in Portland, Oregon. The entire program will be repeated on May 31 – June 2 at the Bijou Art Cinemas in Eugene, Oregon. We anticipate screening 125+ films this year. Audience favorites will be screened at a “Best of the Fest” show in the fall.

Entry is FREE until November 30. After this, there is a low entry fee ($10-$30) which can be paid online. The final deadline is January 31, 2013.
