An evening with batteryPop Recap

BatteryPop met with animators, writers, and folks of all creative types this past Monday at M1-5 downtown on Walker Street.  This exciting new online kids network is dedicated to getting your kids shows directly in front of the audience it was intended for.   I was bowled over by their presentation and judging from the audience Q & A, so was everyone else!  The internet is the future of television and batteryPop is ready to take the lead. Some takeaways:

YOU own anything you submit to batteryPop. They only profit from the brokerage of a deal with a Network/Branding Partner.

BatteryPop guarantees parents a safe viewing experience by screening everything before it goes online.

BatteryPop is focusing on video content rather than books, games, and comix for now.

BatteryPop offers the opportunity for you to test your properties with real live kids via their website giving you statistical backing for your pitches.

BatteryPop officially launches May 20th.  Please get in touch with them about your new kids show now so you can be a part of their launch programming!  Pictures from the event are up on our Facebook page.  Thanks Taso, Greg, Tristian, M1-5 and YOU for making this an amazing event!!

Here’s the call from their website:

CALLING ALL ANIMATORS, PUPPETEERS, WRITERS, DIRECTORS, ACTORS, VOICE OVER ARTISTS, ILLUSTRATORS…

Well, you get the point. If you’re creative and you love the idea of creating for kids, then we want to work with you.

batteryPOP provides you the opportunity to develop your ideas the way YOU want to develop them. We’re looking for original web series in all formats. Whether you have a finished show and you need a place to showcase it, you have one episode and want feedback, or you just have a sweet idea and no clue what to do with it, we’d love to work with you.

batteryPOP can provide production assistance in a variety of ways. When your show is ready to go up on the site (and eventual mobile app), we’ll share revenues with you, plus you’ll receive free marketing and direct feedback from your audience. And if your web series becomes a hit on batteryPOP, we’ll help you get in front of networks and studios for development into long form properties.

Interested, or just want to know more? Email us at creators@batterypop.com and we’ll talk!

Thanks all.
